Choose a program first!
Typically, students choose colleges or universities they want to go to before choosing the program you want to study. However, remember that the program you study in college will help you tackle the career that you want in the future. It’s much better to find a program that you want to enroll in before looking for a school that offers it. This gives you much more room to search for the right program rather than confining yourself to the programs offered by a few school.
Getting specialized
When it comes to sonography, there are many specialties to choose from – from general to cardiovascular sonography. Not all schools offering ultrasound tech programs will have a variety of specialties to choose from so you’re better off deciding on a specialty then looking for a school that offers training for it. There are four main categories recognized by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
